    Notes
    • It is Robert Allender, presumably, who is shown on the 1820 and 1830 Censuses living in the household of his parents, in the age category 10-16 and 20-30, respectivley. They are living in Pultney Township, Belmont County, Ohio. His father dies in 1831, and Robert, on the 1840 Census, is now head of household and shown living in the same township. His mother is living with Richard, next door to Joseph. Robert's age is 20-30, his wife is also age 20-30. With them are 2 sons under 5 (Nicholas, age 2, and John, age 3), 2 daughters under 5 (Julia Ann, age 5 and Lucinda, age 1), and 1 daughter 5-10 (Mary, age 7)
Subject: Robert Allender's Will states that Robert Allender is one of the heirs of Nicholas Allender, and Robert's will names a daughter Leah, a daughter Lucinda and son John. One child has died, perhaps John. There is a bill for a small coffin in 1841, and [for] Robert [who] died in 1842, there is also a bill for his coffin and medical records from the dr show he examined Robert, John and Lucinda.
Leah requests payment for her dowry when she marries.
There is also a witness on several documents, Joseph Allender
There is also an Andrew Wood who owes Robert and a Martin Todd who also owes him there is also an Andrew Wood who owes Robert.
James Kelsey is the administrator and puts up a $4000 bond
There is a claim from Wm Cauley who has a note from Joseph and Robert Allender owed him $50 payable within 12 months
There is an ad in the paper announcing the estate of Robert Allender, St Clairsville gazette, June 23, 1842, and a page about the guardian of Nicholas' son Richard, Dunham Martin, and a note about Robert giving Mary money to live on, probably his mother, Nicholas' wife. The minor child with the reference to the guardian listed in Robert's probate, was Nicholas' minor child, Richard. The wording is "Richard Allender as one of the Legattees of Nicholas Allender deceased and which is to be paid out of the estate of Robert Allender deceased and for which I have this day obtained a receipt from said Martin (guardian is now Dunham Martin) guardian of afor said" Sept 10 1842 signed by James Kelsey, administrator of the estate of Robert Allender.
Since Robert was the admin of Nicholas will and died 3 years later, there was some money due from Robert to Richard's guardian --kahuja

an email from Christy talking about Robert Allender and his wife Margaret Hays Allender and their daughter Mary Allender marrying a Samuel Milligan is that the same Robert who is Nicholas' son?

we are correct with Robert's children, and john is the one that died, as he is not listed,
they were specifically named in another land contract where Martin Todd and Wife Margaret bought the West Wheeling land for them ???
now we need to find out why would he do that? Was Nicholas' wife Mary Todd and he bought the land for Nicholas' grandchildren and his sister as Mary l(nicholas' widow)lives on that property
this land deal was dated 1844 stating all children were minors.
