    Notes
    • The Baltimore County marriage record for William W. Allender to Mary Marker , 11 Dec 1821, supplies the middle initial W. to his name. His occupation, blacksmith, is on the 1860 Census record. The US Census record for 1860 also show William Allender, age 67, now a widow, living with his son, Thomas, age 40, and his wife, Rebecca, age 39, with their four sons: William, age 11, John, age 8, George, age 4, and Samuel, age 1.
From Census records it is hard to tell which of his sons was the older, William or Thomas. Whether Thomas is the brother of William is not known for certain, but the two lived very near each other and they name their children in a similar pattern, and two of their children unite in marriage. This marriage of presumed first cousins takes place in 1904, when William's grandchildren, William H Allender, age 53, oldest child of Thomas L (or S.) Allender, unites with Mary Ann Allender Wilson, age 44, second daughter of William N. Allender, thereby giving her back her maiden name of Allender.
